Where it started
Cyber Active Entertainment began on January 25, 2008. Back then, browser games were the best place to experiment, so our first releases were two Flash games: Laser Pong and Meteoroids. Meteoroids made the jump to iOS in 2011 and got a full remaster in 2014. I'm still proud of that work, but the remaster never found its audience, and for a long time after that, game development took a back seat.
I did poke my head back in once. In 2021 I made Legends for the Brackeys Game Jam 2021.2. The jam's theme was "Chaos," and Legends was about defeating an evil wizard who had become the embodiment of Chaos. Apparently that didn't fit the theme of "Chaos", so I ended up pulling the game.
Why now
In 2026 (due to a lack of work) I got back into making games, and once again a game jam was the starting point. I built a small puzzle game for the GameDev.tv Game Jam 2026 in the four days before submissions closed. The response was more than I expected, and it convinced me to turn that little jam game into a full release.
That game is Flow Connections.
Meet Flow Connections
Flow Connections is a relaxing puzzle game where you rotate tiles to connect pipes and get the water flowing. Boards run from 3x3 up to 10x10, and the Daily and Nightly puzzles get bigger as the week goes on.
I wanted it to be a calm game. The soundtrack is theta wave meditation-style music with its own track for every hour of the day, layered with nature sounds: birds during the day, crickets at night, and sprinklers that come to life once your pipes connect.
Flow Connections launches on iOS on October 9, 2026. It's free to download and has no ads. The free version includes the Daily and Nightly puzzles plus 50 challenge puzzles. The full game costs $1.99 USD and unlocks four more modes (Endless, Time Attack, Blitz and Custom) along with another 100 challenge puzzles.
